Private Provider Inspections: How much do they cost?
August 22nd, 2023 | 2 min. read
Under Florida law, conducting thorough inspections is a mandatory aspect of the building process. At Legacy Engineering, we understand the importance of these regulations and stand as a trusted partner to guide you through every stage of your project, ensuring a seamless and efficient building process. Having navigated and successfully completed the initial plan review process, the next critical step for you is to gain a clear understanding of the inspection pricing process.
At Legacy, we charge $175-200 per trip, depending upon which county your project is located, but we can often provide more than one inspection per trip. (See details below.)
We are committed to providing transparent and comprehensive insights into the pricing structure, enabling you to make well-informed decisions. Our expertise in the field, coupled with our dedication to client satisfaction, positions us uniquely to support your project's needs while adhering to all state regulations and standards. By partnering with Legacy, you can rest assured that your project is in capable hands, and every aspect, including pricing, is handled with the highest level of professionalism and attention to detail.
Myth: I must pay an upfront payment before I can get my project inspected.
Truth: Invoices are billed post-inspection.
For each inspection scheduled and completed, there will be an invoice sent directly to the contact given during the scheduling process. We will never bill you before a service has been provided! After receiving the invoice, the frequency of invoicing throughout the project will be determined by the plan you have selected.
Myth: Nowhere offers flexible payment plans for my inspections!
Truth: Legacy offers several billing options.
We offer three billing options that you can choose to cater to your specific budget and preferences!
Per Trip Billing:
- On each trip that an inspector comes to the site, there will be a corresponding invoice sent after said inspection.
- For example, you may schedule one or five inspections in one single trip. You will be billed a flat rate depending on the number of trips, not inspections.
Per Project Billing:
- Our team will propose the cost of inspection services based on the predicted scope of work and upcoming trips.
Monthly Billing:
- At the end of the month, there will be one invoice sent out.
- Inspections performed during the month will include the exact date and ending status of the inspection.
- It is a one-stop shop! All your project inspections are in one convenient invoice.
If there are multiple inspections required for the project, setting up a billing schedule to only receive one invoice at the end of the month is offered and encouraged.
Offering flexible payment options is worthwhile for you and your company to decide how you want to be billed. These options allow you to pay at your desired date and maintain a sense of control over your project’s budget.
Myth: All Inspections cost the same.
Truth: Inspection costs depend on the jurisdiction where the inspection is held.
The price of private inspections depends on the location where the project is being completed. In Duval County, inspections will cost $175.00 per trip. In surrounding jurisdictions such as Clay and Saint John’s, which are $200.00. Additionally, we offer services to the beaches of Jacksonville and Fernandina, indicated by yellow stars on the map.
Now What?
